Boulangerie
Music, Wine and Conversation

Our concert series Boulangerie, established in Berlin and Hamburg, has been combining concert and salon since 2012. Conceived as a tribute to Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979) and her legendary Paris salons, we build a bridge between contemporary music and works from the classical-romantic repertoire. Each event is dedicated to contemporary composers who will be present during the concert to talk to us about their work. In this way, we would like to make contemporary music and the people behind it more accessible.

In 2022 we have been able to continue the Boulangerie with many inspiring encounters: Sarah Nemtsov, Gordon Kampe, Johannes Maria Staud, Matthias Pintscher and Thomas Larcher were our guests at the Boulangerie. We were also able to invite outstanding chamber music partners in clarinettist Sebastian Manz and tenor Ilker Arcayürek.

A matter of the heart was our first Boulangerie for children in April! We developed the programme with KIKA presenter Malte Arkona, who led through the concert in a funny, lively and sensitive way. At his side he had Gordon Kampe as a „composer to touch“. In addition to a musical journey from Haydn to today and the presentation of various new playing techniques, we examined Gordon Kampe´s trio „fresh and edgy“ in detail and played it as a complete work at the end.
